Like many other games, you can show the GTA V frame rate easily. In this guide, I have three different options to show it right when you play.

Choose one of three methods below.

• #1 Show FPS on GTA V using Windows 10 Game Bar
• #2 Steam also provides FPS count on any game running
• #3 Or use Razer Cortex which will also improve performance

#1 Show FPS on GTA V using Windows 10 Game Bar

Game Bar is a built-in gaming feature on Windows 10. Your computer likely already has it. In case it doesn’t, go to Microsoft Store Xbox Game Bar to get it.

1. Press Windows+G to launch Game Bar.

2. Click on the FPS menu, then Request Access.

3. Restart your computer.

4. Launch GTA V, then run Game Bar as well. The FPS section should be active.

5. Click on Performance options, then leave only FPS checked.

6. Now, you can Pin the window and move it to the location you preferred.

7. The FPS count will remain there, even when you close the Game Bar layout.

FPS from Game Bar provides the most accurate data since it’s directly based on computer performance. You don’t even need third-party software since it is bundled with Windows 10. Game Bar also can be activated via a game controller.

#2 Steam also provides FPS count on any game running

If you bought the game from Steam, then you are lucky! Steam has a built-in FPS count which you can opt-in to show during the gaming session.

1. Go to Steam > Settings.

2. In the In-Game menu, select the position of FPS, then click OK. Also, make sure the Enabled the Steam Overlay while in-game is checked.

3. Launch GTA V. You will notice the FPS count will be there (based on the position you chosen).

#3 Or use Razer Cortex which will also improve performance

Razer Cortex is a software that will optimize your PC to focus on the game you about to play. It also comes with an advanced FPS counter.

1. Launch Razer Cortex, then click View Dashboard on GTA V.

2. Click Enable FPS Chart.

3. Check on Show FPS overlay while in-game, and select the FPS counter location you wish.

4. Go back to My Library, and click Play on GTA V.

5. The FPS counter will show.

Note: Based on my experience, the FPS counter on Razer Cortex isn’t aligned with Game Bar or Steam. It was about twice higher and most likely inaccurate (at least when this article was being written).

From the three options above, you only have to choose the one you like the most. I personally prefer Game Bar since it is easier to use and a lot of customization. It works well on most launchers, including Steam, GOG, Epic Store, and Uplay.
