Azerbaijan is one of the most ancient sites of humankind. Local population considered that fire was their God and so they worshipped the fire. “Azer” means fire. The word “Azer” consists of two parts – “az” and “er”. In Turkic languages, “az” means a good intention and a fate of success. Thus, the word “Azer” means “a brave man”, “a brave boy”, “the fire keeper”. The word “Azərbaijan” originates from the name of an ancient Turkish tribe, who resided in those territories.
Azerbaijan made its own contribution into the establishmənt of the current culture and civilization and progress. There were living settlements even at the earliest stages of humankind..
The time kept a range of ancient archeological and architectural monuments for us. The ancient headstones, manuscripts and models of carpets, preserved to the present times from the ancient ages, can provide much information to those who can and want to read them. Azərbaijan is a country of ancient culture. The Oguz tribes which moved here and stayed for ages, have found a deeply rooted culture and in their turn enriched it with Turkic national traditions. The talented and creative powers of our nation are personified in such epic monuments as “Kitabi-Dede Gorgud”, “Oguzname” “Keroglu” and many others.
This fertile, generous and friendly land was the home of many thinkers, philosophers, scientists, poets, architects, musicians and artists. A legend tells that Zardusht was born in this land. Azerbaijan also enriched the humankind with such geniuses as Nizami Ganjevi, Hagani Shirvani, Bahmanyar, Nasimi, Fizuli, Nasreddin Tusi, Shah Ismail Xatai, Mullah Paneh Vagif, A. Bakikhanov, M.F. Axudov,
M.A. Sabir, J.Mamedguluzade, Huseyn Javid, J.Jabarli, Samed Vurgun, Aliaga Vahid, Rasul Rza.
The country of Azerbaijan was immortalized by such talented painters as Sattar.

About the Turkish people and their alphabet in the Caucasus

Azeri turkish and all Caucasian people used the same alphabet, like armenians, in old times, like most people of the world use latin alphabet or Cyrillic in our times. It is natural. Common people usually used to speak Turkish in the Caucasus, and middle east, middle assia, far east which was very understandable by everyone in that region, as nowadays English or Russian is understandable and widely spread in the world. Azeris were called Albananian, used the alphabet which looked like armenian, since the 1-st century, even before our era. All Caucasian people used the similar alphabet before the Muslim Religion was adopted in the Caucasus . It is known from the history, that Albanian (Azeri-Turkish) ruler Orouz (Araz) exchanged written information with Pompey in Rome . Historical orders were issued in Albanian turkish. All the Caucasian people spoke almost the same common language which was understandable by common people. Even armenians spoke well in Azeri-turkish (albanian, sometimes it was called Aghvan or afghan) up to 20-th century. Armenian republic was created by Russian Government in 1921. Up to that time people could spoke Turkish, because Azeri-turkish people were local people inhabiting on those territories. Armenians were given shelters on our lands. Nowadays most old people can speak Turkish, but young people don’t know it.

The book on Albanian history was written by Musa Kalankatly. But the history of creation of Albanian (azeri) alphabet is not known. In those times, during the arab Khilaphat-dinasty Albanian (azeri) Chirch was subjected to armenian chirch. These 2 chirches joined. In a result, the historic books and alphabet, everything which was written in Albanian language were translated into old armenian and presented as armenian books and those albanian books, resourses were distroyed or thrown into fire by the Armenian Grigorian chirch headed by Ilya. Armenians never had their own government. Now Armenia also a puppet government in the hands of Russia. My grandfather gave them bread to eat, but they say that those lands belonged to them and This policy is useful to Ruusia to defend their south borders against USA and Turkey, as they called Turkey enemy N 1 in the south.
