It’s probably just something obvious I’m missing, but how do you play with your friends in multiplayer? The only thing I can manage to do is start searching, I don’t see a way to start up a lobby first to get everyone together. Do I just have to join a friend already in a game? And is it the same for co-op? Cause that really sucks if I can’t play easily with friends.

There is no party system in FC3. You have to join a multiplayer game, then invite your friends if there is enough free space. I believe you have a button to automatically invite your XBL party to the current game, but there is no guarantee that they join the same team.

Co-op can be played privately. You can host a “private” match. Same XP gain, just not public for other players to join. On the flip-side, you choose your own chapter/dfficulty and launch at your own leisure.

There he goes. One of Gods own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live and too rare to die.

True story. Such a good gameplay wasted because of no dedicated servers and some other things, very sad.

I’ve had no crashes or problems at all. Though I have encountered people shooting through the floor and wallhacking

I will just copy-paste a post i made a while ago:

As it happens in many games, even if they don´t consider their product a beta, it really is. Singleplayer is awesome, but every player who plays more than 5 hours could tell you multiplayer is really a beta:

Considerations for this from my experience:
-Bugs which gives infinite ammo for secondary weapons and granades/molotovs
-Experience totally bugged, sometimes you get, sometimes not.
-False “unlocks”. The ammount of “you have unlocked this. ” warnings until you really unlock it is 3-4.
-Crashes pretty usual.
-The most annoying factor: Host migration. Devs should realise that people dies, people rages, people leaves, and this happens often. Host migration goes from 10 to 50 seconds each time. with a 30% possibility of destroying the match. It is very difficult to play this way.

Multiplayer itself is great fun, but i think it would really give confidence if we could read somewhere “multiplayer is in beta stage, at the moment we are working to solve all the problems. You will not lose the equipment you unblock as we improve it”.

Edit: I forgot to mention that if the game crashes you are out of multiplayer or cloud for a while. Seems ubisoft´s security measures goes against them in farcry 3.

ya, dedis would be very nice but i guess, we will never see them. sad, but that’s how business works today.
anyway, it’s a great game but i could have been a great+ game with dedis 🙂

yes, that’s true! 7 of 10 times crashes the game and 80% lag
(i play in europe!!) very weak multiplayergame !!

I read about this before the game released, this was my sole reason for not purchasing the game.

The matchmaking works for consoles because consoles are always teh same hardware and the devs know the limitations of that ahrdware etc ona PC not anyone PC is the same in %95 of cases and having to rely on someones hardware and or knowledge of networking or other factors that can disrupt a game and generate lag or unplayable multiplayer features then matchmaking is jsut not going to cut it for PC.

In most cases find a game when someone local hosts and youw ill see they overburden their network outside of the game and or have low system specs and other issues that negate the playablity in an online game with a PC matchmaking system, it is flawaed and doesn’t deserve the support of the PC community – byt aht i mean don’t encourage publishers by buying it.

I don’t understand how this game can be released as a retail product when one of the key components doesn’t function correctly. Also, matchmaking for PC, really?

It’s like this game is a ‘out of the box console port’.

Lmao i have had no problems with the multiplayer. Im rank 75 and i am still enjoying it. The fact that you have problems doesnt mean everyone is. See if it is on your end because i havent had any disconnects, false unlocks, and the only time i have had trouble connecting to a game their servers were going through trouble and it was fixed by the next day,

huh? sooo i guess all those COD and Battle field games have bad online PC play?

and WHY WOULD YOU EVER let a poorly written forum post from pre-release( as your post suggests) keep you from buying a game. you are 100% missing out on all sides. far cry 3 is pretty epic. it needs a 3rd party mod if you are in to extremely hardcore difficulty, but besides that its the titties with whip creme.

also. Far Cry 3 should be considered 1st and foremost a single player game, if you want something like far cry 3 in a multiplayer setting you should try Day-Z. j/s

If they have no dedicated servers. is the match maker the host? No dedicated servers. Players are hosts, there’s a lot of ‘host migration’ due to people leaving/crashing ingame

Obviously to avoid wasting money on a game that’s over hyped and non-functioning.

Also. ‘When you see this icon, don’t power off your system’ every time you start the game on the pc. Lol.

Because of the said issues, the multiplayer is pretty much dead. There are only 18 (matches/player servers) at peek times. This is what I’d expect from a game like this 2 years after it’s released and dying, not just after it launched.
