PC is one of the platforms where Fortnite is played the most and therefore you may want to learn how to thank the driver in Fortnite using mouse and keyboard.
In this case, you just have to start any game (no matter what mode it is) and press the B button on the keyboard while inside the flying bus.

How to thank the driver in Fortnite for PS4

The Fortnite controller is also active 24/24 on PlayStation 4 and therefore should be thankful for this platform as well. You can simply take advantage of the native functionality of the game to do this.

To proceed, launch any game by pressing the GAME item from the lobby (or using the controller triangle) and press the Under controller button (the down arrow on the D-Pad) while still on the bus. In this way, your name will appear in the lower left part and you will have thanked the driver correctly.

The procedure to thank the Fortnite driver is also doable on Switch, almost identical to what was seen on PS4,

All you have to do is start any type of game and tap the “!” (icon of a speech bubble with an exclamation point) in the upper right. Obviously, you need to do this while your character is still inside the bus at the start of the game.

By now, you may have realized waves of players thanking the bus driver before jumping off. If you haven’t done it before and are wondering how you can do it, it’s one of the easiest Easter eggs you can perform in Fortnite, and you’ll be able to thank the bus driver in all of your future matches after learning how you can do it.

How to thank the bus driver in Fortnite

To thank the bus driver, you need to be in the bus before you exit it into a match. While you’re in the bus, press the emote button on your keyboard or controller to say “thank you” to the bus driver. By default these keys will be:

• PS4, PS5 – Down on the d-pad
• Xbox One, Xbox One X/S – Down on the d-pad
• Nintendo Switch – Down on the d-pad
• Mobile/Tablet – Press the emote button
• PC – Press B

If you don’t press this button before you exit the bus, you’ll be unable to thank the bus driver properly and will need to start a new game to successfully do it.

If you happen to see your name in the chat box after thanking the bus driver, you’ll know you were successful.

What happens when you thank the bus driver in Fortnite?

Thanking the bus driver is just a fun Easter egg that was implemented in Fortnite around 2018. It doesn’t give players and competitive advantage or perks.

From time to time, Epic Games will add challenges that require players to thank the bus driver to complete them. Based on this alone, all Fortnite players get to thank the bus driver one way or another since the majority of the player base will try to complete as many quests as possible throughout a season.

It’s simple enough to do, but if you’re wondering, this page explains how to thank the bus driver in Fortnite on all platforms, so you can be the polite and respectful citizen we know you all are.

How to thank the bus driver in Fortnite on PC, PS4, Xbox One, Switch and Mobile explained

Thankfully it’s a simple one! To thank the bus driver, you just need to press whatever button brings up the Emotes wheel for you on your current platform – and, of course, you need to still be inside the battle bus.

You’ll spot people doing it from the moment you get into the bus, which looks like this:

Here’s a rundown of all the different inputs for the various platforms.

• Thank the bus driver PC – Press ‘B’ on the keyboard while inside the Battle Bus.
• Thank the bus driver PS4 – Press ‘Down’ on the D-pad while inside the Battle Bus.
• Thank the bus driver Xbox One – Press ‘Down’ on the D-pad while inside the Battle Bus.
• Thank the bus driver Nintendo Switch – Press ‘Down’ on the D-pad while inside the Battle Bus.
• Thank the bus driver Mobile and Tablets – Press the ‘Emote’ button in the top right corner of the screen while inside the Battle Bus.

When you’ve done it, you’ll notice the name will appear in orange as opposed to red in that bottom left corner. Note that those above controls will be different if you’ve re-mapped the button for ‘Emotes’ at any point – either way, it’s the same as the Emote button in-game!
