3 Ways to Install HBO GO on Firestick / Fire TV

In this guide, we are going to talk about how to install the HBO GO application on Firestick / Fire TV.

HBO is one of the largest television networks in the world. It broadcasts world-famous TV series. This network has various channels such as HBO, HBO GO, HBO NOW, HBO MAX. Of these, the HBO GO channel is free to access with the cable TV provider. The HBO GO app is not available in the Amazon App Store but is available for use on HBO GO Firestick / FireTV. Let’s talk about those methods.

Install HBO Max on Firestick

Previously, the HBO Max was not available in the Amazon store. So I had to use a third-party application or use cast alternative methods. But the HBO MAX app can now be easily downloaded from the Amazon App Store. To do this, follow the procedure below.

Step 1 – First go to Firestick Home

Step 2 – Search for HBO MAX in the search option at the top left corner.

Step 3 – You can find the HBO MAX application in its search results. Click on it and click Download. Now it starts downloading.

Step 4 – Now go to your home page. Then the HBO Max application can be seen. Now it can be launched and used.

If you do not have enough space to download the HBO MAX application, you will need to delete the Unnecessary applications to get enough space on Amazon Firestick.

How to Cast HBO Max app and watch it on Firestick

This method involves casting the HBO max app on the phone and viewing it via the Amazon Firestick device. Casting takes place here and this method is not so complicated.

Step 1 – To do this, download the HBO MAX app from your Android or IOS phone.

Step 2 – Log in to your HBO account now. (over the phone)

Step 3 – Connect your Firestick device and mobile phone to the same Wifi network.

Step 4 – Now hold down the Home button on the Firestick device. Then access the Quick menu.

Step 5 – select the Cast option

Step 6 – There, the display mirror screen appears.

Step 7 – Now from your Android or IOS phone, open the HBO MAX app and click on its Cast icon. Your Firestick device will then appear there. Tap it.

Step 8 – Now both devices are connected. Now when you play a movie or a program, it is displayed on the Amazon firestick Device.

Pre-installation settings for the HBO GO application to Firestick

Here we need to download the HBO MAX application to Firestick. So you have to download third-party apps here. To do this you need to enable application settings from unknown sources on Firestick. Here’s how to do it.

How to Enable Apps from unknown sources in Firestick

Step 1 – The first thing to do is turn on the Firestick device and go to its Settings.

Step 2 – Now select “My Fire TV” from the options available there.

Step 3 – Go to the Developer option from the options shown there.

Step 4 – Select “Applications from unknown sources”.

Step 5 – You will be prompted to activate it now. Turn it on.

Now your Firestick / FireTV device is ready to download third-party apps. This setting is only required if the HBO application is downloaded using the Downloader application.

Install HBO Max/ HBO GO on Firestick Using Downloader

Here HBO MAX is installed using a third-party application. For this, we need to have the Unknown Sources option mentioned above enabled.

Step 1 – First install the Downloader for Firestick. (Go to Seach on Firestick and search for Downloder> select the Downloader app> click GET. Then the Downloader app will download.)

Step 2 – Now launch your downloaded download app and go to Home.

Step 3 – Type https://bit.ly/2EvGQAn where you type LINK / Url and press the Go button.

Step 4 – Download the HBO Max APK file now.

Step 5 – Once the download is complete, the installation menu will open. Click Install from it.

Step 6 – The HBO MAX application will finish installing shortly. You can now launch it. Tap Open. Then the application will run.

How to Sign Up For HBO Max

After you download the HBO app in Firestick, you need to log in. You need to have an account for that. Here’s how to create an account

Step 1 – First go to hbonow.com from your phone or computer and click on the “Free Trial” option in the top right corner.

Step 2 – Now enter your name, email, and details. Also, enter a strong password.

Step 3 – Now click on create an account below.

Now you need to enter a payment method. Enter your debit/credit card details there.

Then click the Start Subscription button. And then follow the prompts to verify payment.

You have 7 days trial period here. You will not be charged until it is over.

HBO Go vs. HBO Now: What’s the Difference?

HBO Go and HBO Now have one small but significant difference between them, and it will determine which service you need.

The only functional distinction between the two is that HBO Go takes advantage of an existing HBO subscription, whereas HBO Now is a totally standalone service. HBO Now used to be less widely available than its Go counterpart; now they’re both pretty much everywhere. You can access both services on computers, Android, iOS, PlayStation, Xbox, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast, Android TV and lots of other platforms.

Adding It On

HBO Go and Now are the two most common ways to get HBO content alone, but not the only ones. Amazon Channels, Sling TV and PlayStation Vue all sell HBO as an add-on for $15 per month. There’s no huge advantage to having these add-ons instead of HBO Now, but if you use Amazon, Sling or PS Vue a lot, it could help to have all of your content in one place.
